All i have to say is last weakend my buddy and i were cruzing around in his new ford lightening...we came to a light and a camaro wanted to race us....we gladly excepted and "blew him away"....it was an SS to so that goes to show all the cheve fans out there that their product really is not the "Best" but the slowest!!!!
That's cool! by the way? how about this one? I have alittle bro. that just recenly bought a 2000 viper. he is so pleased that it's in his possesion.I on the other hand, tol him about the 2000 lightning and he referred to it as a "land yacht". How rude, of coarse when i told him that this truck will hang with his race car. Lets just say that he was angry to say the least!!! How dare me to compare a ford to his race car.. Hey I'm sorry that dodge makes a vehicle that's only a sec. faster in the quarter and a heep load more, $34000 more haha!!! And ford is upgrading to the 01 model which probably will sadding him more..............Not bad Hugh????????
tuff1, you must own a chevy due to your lack of knowledge, cause my lightning does a nice 13.4 and the vip does it in 12.2.....Thank you for playing who wants to chase a viper!!!
I've seen Vipers quoted in the 11.7 range and the new ones have 50HP more than the old ones. The lightning is a very fast truck but seriously, compare apples to apples here.
72f100, I'm refering to a bone stock, off the showroom floor and yes the new ones are in a different league. I accept that! but back to reality the 2000 like mine only a sec. point 3 difference, thank you for playing who wants to chase some vip's
!!!!!!!!!!
No!, that's to be interpeding it's tail is approx.. 2ft
in front of me!! So when he shivers in his sweat to
glance at his rear-mirror all he will see is the
intimidator on his bumper and every else, except on
straight-a-ways........
i wouldn't call it gettin smoked when u consider its a factory 32g (v8)truck against an 80g v10 race car i don't call that gettin smoked, the lightning is an all around better vehicle because it has the ability to smoke just about any vehicle u put it against and it can still haul/pull a heavy load. I don't know about where u are from but there aren't very many vipers around here but if someone had a lightning they would have the baddest truck around here.

i would rather push a ford than drive a chevy.
The Camaro SS must have been a second or third generation model with smog crap suffocating it. I know the fourth generation '98 - '01 would have taken the Lightning. In my "Z" all I have to do if someone is tailgating, is "Grab a gear and disappear". Now, I am an owner of both Fords and Chevys so I can brag on them both!
Are we talking about the same race?? This is a 1/2 ton pickup versus an $80k sports car. One or two truck lengths in the querter mile? Id almost say tha viper got smoked. You would think a $80k car could do better than a 1 or 2 second lead on a $32k TRUCK. The guy with the viper was probably ticked that he didnt do better, i would have been. Go ford!!! Sorry dodge

Considering the fact that the Lightning will be moving at about 147 ft/sec and the Viper will be moving at about 166 ft/sec by the time the Lightning crosses the 1/4 mile, the Viper will be approximately 200 ft ahead of the Lightning when it crosses. If you split the difference and use 156.5 ft/sec, the Viper will be a little over 200 feet ahead of the Lightning at the end of the 1/4 mile, and that is if the Lightning quits accelerating when it crosses the line. Now I am not sure of the actual length of a Lightning, but I would guess that my co-worker's '00 Lightning is about 18' long. Using that length, the Viper will be about 11 Lightning lengths ahead. I would call that blowing it away. Not even my co-worker would put his Lightning in the same class as a Viper. He also own's a '96 LT1 Vette and a '97 V10 4x4 Dodge Ram so he doesn't really favor any particular manufacturer. Although he does drive the Lightning much more than his Vette (his wife drives the Ram).
