Front end Squeek
Front end Squeek
First off thanks to those of you that posted the Ball joint replacement guide.
I have lubed everything on the front end of my 1997 F150 replace upper and lower ball joints.
Now I am hearing a squeek coming from the front end. This squeek does not occur from turning the wheel only when the wheels move up and down when going down the street.
Did I over tighten? I did use a torque wrench when I installed the new ball joints.
Or does someone else have an idea?

i actually had just the same squeak. take a look at your upper control arm bushings, see if they look a little worn(signs of cracking, things like that) and then also look and the upper shock mounts. if at all possible have a buddy or someone rock the vehicle and try and pinpoint the noise. i sprayed my upper control arm bushings and upper shock mounts on both sides with silicone lubricant, let it soak in then sprayed it again and the noise is gone. hope this helps.
