Checking to see who has the most miles on there new rig and miles per gallon break in increases....honesty counts.


first check was 285miles on 23 gals...12.4 with 685 miles on truck.

 

OK here we go again, with the MPG stuff you have to compare your truck with gears to the same truck. My 4x4 SD F250 CC with SRW and 3.73 is going to get way better miles than a F450 with 4.88 but the f450 can handle the 35 ft 5'r with ease. Maybe someone would be willing to set up a spreadsheet that would mean something on the MPG issue that is always being raised here. Right now my truck is getting about 15 l/100 or better, depends if I want to drive at 125 or 110.

The only 6.4 I have driven is our 450 ambulance 4x4 at work. It has around 5500-6000 miles on it, but well over 600 hours. It's probably over 700 by now. I got transferred to a differen station so I haven't gotten to keep up with it lately.

Anyway it got to us getting 5.6 max and it's never gotten any better.

All around, this morning sitting at 12.7 mpg - this is blend of city/highway driving, 7050 miles. Truck stabilized on these numbers at about 1500 miles. I didn't think they would improve much then, and I don't see the mpg improving much going forward.

 

Well I have ~3000 miles now and am getting 12.6 mpg..Mostly city driving..Does not seem to change much even when I pull my Bass Boat

 

My 08 6.4 milage is based on moderate to heavy foot style driving.

New with no miles

Town stop and go driving 8.5 MPG Average
Highway driving cruise set at 75 MPH 11.0 MPG Average


After 6500 miles

Town stop and go driving 11.5 MPG Average
Highway driving cruise set at 75 MPH 16 MPG Average

Towing 10,000 LBS +- at 75 to 80 MPH mountainous terrain between Las Vegas and California 8 MPG Average

Worst milage empty 9.8
Best Milage empty 17.5
Worst Loaded 18,000 +- GCVW 7.5 MPG
Best Loaded 18,000 +- GCVW 10.5 MPG

 

i have 1400 miles, non tow highway is around 21 and city is around 17. tow city is around 12

 

That's pretty Crazy Chef, what's your rig? Most of us aint quite there yet.

Lariat 4 dr 4x4 psd. not sure what the build date is, where can i find that ? i only have 1,400 miles, just that high idle problem is buggin me.

 

1200 miles, finally 13.5 @65 mph. bet it won't stay, had no head wind on that drive.

what is ps22 juice ? your not towin and ur gettin that mileage, or u are towin.

 

I believe if you look on the drivers side door post between the two doors, there will be a sticker and the build date is usually at the top. mine reads 08 07....2008 7th month.

 

PS22 - Ford Cetane booster, get it at your dealer. Not towed a damn thing yet.

 

wow no towing? i got around the same mileage right off the dealership, do you think that high idle is regen ?
