I am new to the site, and need some tips. My 73 Ranger xlt has an exhaust manifold cracked on the drivers side. Is this common?
The truck has a 360 2 bbl. Vin# F10YKR23189. AT tranny, discs up front. The truck was built in Kc Mo. I bought the truck just south of Wichita. I am wondering wich tranny I have? Thanks in advance!
Exhaust manifolds crack, it happens. You can buy used ones on ebay, or in the for sale forum, or buy new reproductions off of the internet for around $50 each or so. The only bummer about those is they are universal, so you get ones that will accept air injection(they provide plugs to close off whatever you don't need.)
To figure out what trans you have, look at the pan. Chances are VERY good that it is a C6, the standard equipment trans.
