Blowing Fuse

Hello...

I have a 2002 F150 that keeps blowing the 5 amp fuse that controls the dome light, power windows and interlock from shifting out of park. Does anyone have any suggestions? I use the truck for work and need it BAD!!!

Thanks,
John

Insufficient data. Supply the fuse number.

If possible, describe the conditions under which the fuse blows.

It's fuse # 15. It blows randomly. Would a relay that is on it's way out cause that?

F2.15 is a 5 amp fuse that supplies power to the brake pedal position switch and the brake shift interlock module. Check the brake pedal position switch, see if you can wiggle it around and make the fuse blow. If you can't, then the brake shift interlock up on the steering column is the place to look. Good luck!

According to my schematics, F15 directly supplies the BPP and the GEM module. The interlock is only in circuit when the pedal is pressed and this half of the BPP switch changes.

I'd certainly inspect the BPP switch wiring. However, the unknown factor is if the fuse is blowing only when the pedal is pushed.

If the fuse's blowing is unrelated to the application of the brake, then the GEM module is also in play, perhaps due to windshield leaks.
