Quad,
pretty cool truck. do you know what size engine is in it? Im gussing stock 318?
Since their names were mentioned does anyone know where Ivan went and how Pro is doing? Ivan dropped off the face of the planet and last I heard Pro wasnt doing too good.
But dodge based? IIRC an aftermarket 440 block can be stroked out to something like that. In all honnesty once you go from a stock block and heads to aftermarket you really dont have a FORD or DODGE or CHEVY anymore. Its like MBB said. Once you go so far with something it starts to lose its integrity. Why is a tube frame rock crawler a Jeep hybrid just because it has a jeep grill?
Pro's truck is far more impressive to me than that Dodge, it's still street legal(and has mufflers, even in that vid,) while that Dodge obviously is not.
And, honestly, that Dodge doesn't perform like something with an engine that big should to me, but, I'm into an entirely different kind of mudding, and some of the trucks I race with are purely insane... I wish I had video of Brian's truck from the last races I was... He was hydroplaning across the deep end of the pit, with skinny, uncut Boggers(38.5x11's.)
This isn't from that event, and isn't great video, but, it'll give you an idea how badass his rig is, even though it isn't huge. http://www.bigblocksix.com/f100swb/f...Picture010.avi http://www.bigblocksix.com/f100swb/f...ictures021.avi

Yes, that Atikokan mud is nearly rust coloured, with good reason... Iron Ore...
nice vids....but please that dodge is knarly, who gives a chit about street legal....lets see any of them go where the dodge went.....i GARUNTEE it wont happen....its def. not a "stock" block....
neither can i.....i have alot im my truck so far.....from all the swaping but....my new buildup will be about 10k all together when im done...thats with about 2k in the engine
Heck $10k is a decent start on buying parts for an engine. IF your going to do it yourself you can keep a good engine under $20k though.
I'm probably going to have 10K in parts in my 557 build by the time all is said and done, By the time it's in the truck, I can imagine I'll have broken the 15K mark... I can't really afford to do that, so, the truck is going to run a season with a mountain motor and 35" BFG muds... LOL
That white Chevy has a very impressive smallblock... 383 stroker, aluminum heads, etc, in the 550hp range... I have no clue how Ryan has plates on that thing...
Brian's Ford, well, If I had to guess, I'd say 750+, that's at least a 7500 rpm engine, his converter stall is just plain silly, sounds like 4K-4500 to me, some guys say it's 6K, but, he won't say himself. I do know he's running 12.5:1 compression though.
On a good track, that is a 5 second truck... The Atikokan track is just too rough for anyone with power to be able to run hammer down for a full run.
