Broke Again
dual point distributor, aluminum intake, Holley 600 Cfm four barrel,
headers etc. I just had a rebuilt transmission put in it. Anyways,
to get to the point. I was driving it the other day, when it started
to miss. This quickly went to where it almost wouldn't run at all.
I just barely got back to the house. It did something like this summer before last. Then it was the points. I try to start it now and it will bark , backfire and carry on and sometimes start right up and run good for approximately 10-30 seconds, then it starts acting up again. It's only been a year and half, could the points be bad again? Their Mallory parts. I have the a stock coil on it, could it be the culprit? Does the dual points distributor need more volts than what the stock coil can provide? I should just break down and get the unilite electronic conversion. If it put that in, do I need a different coil then too?
Thanks in Advance,

The dizzy is a switch for the current through the coil, the voltage isn't critical for a points system to work unless it's too low to saturate the coil. Can you get a conversion kit for the Mallory? The coil can remain the same.
