What should compression be

I have a 92 F-150 302 and I am looking for a new engine.

I have found one and was curious what the compression ratio psi should be. I was told it is from a 92 f-150 and the compression ratio is 150 psi all around.
Is this good and what should the range be? I really want it to be right as this is the 2nd engine I have had to put in it because in was running lean and burned up the spark plug and pieces flew it the cylinder damaging it. The same thing happened both times on the same cylinder. Since no one around here ever listens to me when I tell them it is running lean just plain running bad, I am replacing everything including the injection and that is also why I wanted to be from the same rig.

Thank you,
Kallie

Chiltons says no cylinder should be below 100 psi.......and uses 150 psi in it's example. I would say 150 is good then.
The manual also says no cylinder should be more than 80% LESS than the highest reading.
Hope this helps.

Good Luck on the new motor
Bob

150 is expected on a used but good condition engine...

and FYI...it's just called compression......"compression ratio" is a different measurement.
