wierd e40d question
'94 150 5.8 e40d 4x4 205,000 miles
My shifter cable finally got so hard it broke and it was time to replace it. I also found the bracket at the end of the shifter tube to be loose. after tightening the 2 torx screws i installed the new cable. after ALOT of messing around with the adjustment i realized you could also adjust the pointer (indicator) with a little adjustment wheel on the side of the steering column.
While playing with the cable adjustment on the transmission bracket i found something very wierd. My e40d actually has a click between nuetral and drive that will engage the transmission into 1st gear only. It is actually a e4od as it has the button at the end of the shifter to turn off the OD.
i have it back together and works as it should. However, i dont have any problem finding the little click inbetween nuetral and drive with the shifter.
Has anyone experienced this before? Should i expect any problems now?
