Update Edge First?

Just got my Edge today, build date on the unit is 2/07. It says something in the manual about updating it.
Ya know how updates go.. sometimes its good, sometimes not..
So should I update first or am I safe using whats on it?

Thanks

Ya, I would update it. I have kept up with all the updates, and my truck is running fine.

Once you got an 07 I would go and check with the software and see when the newest update is. I usually update it when a new one comes out of the beta stage. I am pretty sure a new one has come out since Feb.

For updates can you pick firmware updates but not calibration updates?
Or do you get both?

Firmware update is 2.50.2995
Calibration shows
1.0.3120 (beta)

1.0.2943 (release)
Adds support for the following...
RXAP7C3.HEX
RXAP7Z4.HEX
RXDG3D2.HEX

Shoot I have not done it in awhile and I cant remember but I believe you can pick either or. If they are released then I would go ahead and download them. I don't mess with beta stuff.

Thanks Man !!
I picked both, couldnt figure out how to do one but not the other, passed on the Beta stuff also.
Where are my trucks stock (factory) settings suppose to get saved to?
The actual edge or what?
If its gets stored to the edge and something happens to it, how will I restore factory defaults?
Just so I know in case I need to do a restore
Any other last minute tips.. Should do's or dont's.
Gettin ready to put'r in the truck

When you go to program the truck the computer downloads a copy of the factory settings. If you ever need to set it back to the factory settings you just go in there and there is a button that says set to stock and it will set you truck back to the stock settings.

Just plug it in and much sure not to unplug or hit it during the programming. Stick her on level 2 then try not to wake up the neighbors while you are peeling out down the road.

Yes there is another cable. It is a usb cable on one end with the cable end for the edge on the other. The updating software is called lighting something. I believe you can download it from edges site.

Sorry been busy.

Holy bajeezus,
Level 1 to the store.
Level 2 back home.

I nearly missed the store, the girlfriend had to slap the crap outta me and tell me to get off the throttle I wanted to keep going.
Coming home was worse. The thing runs like a raped ape compared to stock. Everybody says they use level 2 all the time, but even level 1 is a big improvement.
Im almost afraid to dump premium in and use level 3 for fear of spoiling myself and having to buy premium gas all the time.

So... so far only two small trips with the edge installed. I took it back out that night as it was dark and I couldnt get the cableling run out of the way. I didnt want to get all tangled up in the cable hanging loose. Havent had a good day to get the cable run correctly.

On another note has anybody used a alternate spot for mounting their edge besides the side pod.

As for mounting the display I have a half a$$ed attempt at making it fit below the radio witha flow thru console. Pics in gallery if interested. All I use is Level 2 because I dont want to be spoiled either..
