Hot Starter?
After I drive my 77 F250 4x4 with a 400-2v and try to restart it within minutes of shutting it off, it starts hard, like the battery is bad. If I let it cool for a good while it starts fine. The battery, voltage regulator, cables, and the alternator checks out fine. Good it be the starter getting old and not liking getting hot?

Get rid of your old battery cables. Replace all four with double ought (2/0 or double zero guage) battery or welding cable. (battery to relay, relay to starter, frame to motor, motor to battery. While you are at it, add new or clean your grounds to from the frame to chassis. Your starting issues should dissapear. If not, replace your starter too.
