the modulater shouldnt have nothing to do with it pullin all it does is make it shift rite,so if its not pullin meaning it dont wana move then its either sliping or the the pump's not workin rite either way a good rebiuld is in order. i spose you could try and change the fluid and filter but most time it just a waist of time.these auto tranny ive found over the years they either work rite and are tuff as nials or they start actin crazy its just junk a rebiuld shouldnt be to bad. i had one(c-6) done in tx for my old 65 and it only cost me 350 bucks

did ya check the trans fluid? sounds low OR the linkage as a ton of slop in it. block the wheels and have a buddy hold the brake and with the truck shut off crawl under there and have him shift it watch the linkage move, and wiggle it around to see if the lil bushings are worn out
