trans problem
My brother has a F250 4x4 with a 4.6 (could be a 5.4 not sure) triton and auto trans. Not sure of the year but it is aleast a 97 (that body type). He said the trans wont go into reverse. Is the reverse controlled electronically also? It works fine in the forward gears. Any help would be apreciated.

Reverse is not electrically controlled. It is all hydraulic and is based on the mechanical position of the shift lever shaft.
Probably a blown clutch or hydraulic feed circuit. Any good tranny shop will be able to diagnose it.
