ok I agree that over time its might not be the best way to tell HOW a Vehicle is driven (without complex computers/aloghithims ) but it could give u a general idea. for family cars you could say a average range number of rpms/year are typical of normal use. However I think its best for monitoring engine use / calculating service intervals. what makes more sence, changing your oil every 3,000 miles or every 9,000,000 engine rotations? engine rotations of course. when u hit 9 million, hit the reset button, change the oil and start over.
