Chip and Radiator Question

I just installed a Diablo chip on my pickup...and I like it! I have a 2000 F150 4x4 5.4 litre/automatic. I also have one of the pickups that can get a new larger size radiator form Ford. Here is my dilema.

I turned in my card I received from Ford for the radiator to the Dealership. The Service Mgr said he would order he parts right away. Then the warranty gal called back and said I would have to wait about two weeks for Ford to send me something else and then I/ME will have to order the parts. All in all they say about 4 to 6 weeks. Is this right? Anyone else heard of this? Sounds like BS to me. So the Service Mgr didn't order the parts like he said.

The thing is, I wanted it done within a couple of weeks(which is what the Service Mgr said) as I am heading to California and am going to be towing a camper/tent trailer through Death Valley! Will the radiator I have now handle this? It's already 105deg in Phoenix and I know it will get to 120deg+ in Death Valley!

Should I take my chip out before they replace the radiator?

Does this sound like "BUNK" from Ford or is this the way they have been handling their radiator recall.

THanks
DC LArson

Chip and Radiator Question

The chip will not make it run any hotter so that's not a worry. Only on the diesels is temperature a concern.

The part about you ordering parts is bunk, its entirely on the dealer's shoulders to honor the recall.
