Ive got about 5300 miles on my 08 F-250 PSD. I love the truck, it is by far the best truck I have ever drove. I had it into the dealer a few weeks ago for some minor issues. I got the standard and some bolts were loose in the transfer case shifter that caused a very annoying noise when cruising down the highway. I also noted to the service guys to check out when you start the truck cold there is a squeak. It sounds like a pully to me, I figured it would be an easy fix. Well I needed the truck back by the weekend so I told him not to disable it. I picked it up after hours and read the invoice and it says that this is a known issue and Ford is investigating the cause...... Anybody else have this problem???? Its been two weeks and I havent heard anything, the noise seems to be getting louder as the time goes on. Thanks for any help!
This is the first that I have heard about that, It sounds funny that they could not tell you what is going on. Its kind of like getting sick, going to the doctor and being told you have a common sickness, we dont know what it is but just wate a little while, let it get worse and we will see what happens.
Also on the invoice they said something about a SSM and a number, Im not really up on Fords service terms, it sounds to me like some tech bulletin they have put out, is there anywhere I could look something like this up and get a little more info??
