I would usually post on the Bronco forums but they don't reply as fast as you guys.
I was wondering if I should get an Optima battery I have 2 amps, 2 10'' subs and the hi speakers are powered by the 2nd amp. I'm just wondering what an Optima Battery would do for me. Thanks for your help...
Optima is a better quality battery for any application, but it's not magic. Of course it would help with a setup like yours but if you're experiencing power problems then you might want to upgrade to a bigger alternator and/or add some capacitors to your stereo system.
The idea is that it basically stores power and delivers it to your components when they demand it, instead of robbing the power directly from the alternator.
When i'm sitting at a red light or just sitting with my system on and my A/C the battery gague goes down when it hits and I think that the battery isn't strong enough.
And I would test that battery and your alternator before you go throwing any parts at it. You can remove the alternator and have it tested at your local Kragen/Auto Zone/similar auto parts store.

The alternator actually produces power in a pulsating form it is not a steady stream of power most electronics are not affected by this However high draw are and that is where the capacitor comes in it stores the power but also smooths out the pulses. just thought i would pass that info on Matt
