Hello all,
I was wondering how I can tell between a rear main oil leak and a front seal transmission leak. I have a '65 352 w/NP 4 sp manual.
The engine supposedly has a new rear main seal one year ago from previous owner but I still get a leak in that area.
Travis, First of all clean that area real good with carb cleaner. Remove all the oil residue. Run the truck for a day or two and check to see if the leak is at the rear on the intake. FEs are kinda bad for leaking up there, and the oil will run down and could cause you to think that you had a bad rear main seal.
