I will be having to get my emissions tested shortly and was interested in if I needed to set the Edge back to stock before getting them tested? Anyone know? I hadn't thought anything of it then I was watching a 'truck' show over the weekend on TV and they were putting one in a newer Avalanche and mentioned something about emissions?
Anyone ever had any issues. I may just leave it alone, I don't think there should be any issues, just wondering to be on the safe side.
I live in NC and when they inspect the vehicle they hook it to a computer via the OBD port, not sure what they do in GA.
Anyways, I returned the Edge to stock, but they weren't able to read the computer and said I'd have to drive it for about 50 miles. I did so and it was OK.
I think it's always a good idea to return it to stock whenever you take it for repairs and/or inspections. Especially if you're going to a Ford dealer because they might reflash the computer and I believe that if you have it programmed different than the stock program it can really screw things up.
Good idea. I cant remember if they hook into the ODB port or not. I know they used to screw on to the gas cap, but I dont remember everything in detail on what they do.
