The 4.9 in that van (if it's listed correctly) is a 300 CI straight six. I'm sure you can imagine the difference knowing that. I don't think Ford used the 9" after the mid-'80s, but someone else probably knows much better than me.
Eric - it didn't list anything but "4.9 8. It's on an auction for dealers-only, and it might be there own database, not sure. But it did say that it was an 8 cyl, and 4.9. It's in a Club Wagon, so you can't see the motor, even with the "hood" up, so I can't really tell. But, there's $6,000 worth of repairs to the van - looks like a telephone pole landing the length of the roof - and the vans worth about $3,000 repaired, so it's possible I could pick it up for starting bid of $35, or slightly more. I'm just trying to find a cheap donor, to get this beastie on the road. But ideally, find a 302/351W with a 9" rearend...
