I'm trying to get the final pieces put together so I can get my 89 F150 302 (5.0L) 2WD on the road.
It looks like I need to replace the pipe between the exhaust manafold and the catalytic. (not sure if it has a name)
This is mainly due to the pipe that attaches to the air pump system (EGR??) has broken off.
I'm in Orillia Ontario Canada.
Having trouble locating a source.
Any help would be appreciated.
Andy
The exhaust Y pipe and cat are all 1 piece on these trucks.. and not cheap to buy. If it's just the air injection tube that is broken off, either remove the hose and plug the exhaust, or have a muffler shop weld on a stub so you can re-attach the air line. This will likely involve removing the Y pipe from the truck because the fitting would be near impossible to weld otherwise.
Yeah that sounds about right.
And certianly explains why the rough and dirty quote from Midas was so much.
I am thinking that maybe if worst comes to worst I might try and pull the why pipe from a junk yard special.
