Kris, The truck looks great just the way it is. I have a question for you about the coolant filter. Will the upper radiator hose that goes around the belt still work with that filter setup. I can't really see how much room is in between the two and am thinking about adding the coolant filter. Thanks
Kris, you have a badass truck! While the chrome bling look is not my sty'l (LOL!), you have done a great job at keeping things sharp and not cheap looking.
I have to agree with you on the headlights...not sure if the bright clear 05 lights might look better especially w/ all your bright chrome and shiney grill. They may round out the front of the rig better.
BTW, I need to update my pics too...all new King Ranch diamond running boards, tan plastic around, new 3rd light etc...
Wish you lived closer...I'd pay you to install everything I want to buy but have no one/where to install it close!
Thanks for the compliments. With the other style upper rad hose, i'm sure it would work without too much hose rerouting...
Yea i got it looking just how i want it now, im not sure what else im going to do with it. I do have a heat extractor hood in the shop ive had for a few months now, but i gotta get off my *** and have a local shop paint it before Fall Brawl comes along. I am running 35x12.50r20 tires on just a leveling kit, absolutley no rubbing with my -18mm offset wheels. I do want to go to a 4" lift in the future, MAYBE...
We have three trucks that are 06-07, and one rainy day i can swap out one headlight and see what looks better. I think it would look best on my black work truck, since the background on the lights is black and all. But that truck has strobe lights in the turn signals so i'd have to buy new strobe heads to put in the black lights, or just get a strobe kit for mine.
Kris, where did you get the tail lights? I really like them and could use some new ones. Are they LED as well?
IMO, the Harley lights would look better on a black truck. The clear lenses would better match the chrome on the front of your truck. I though about Harley lights too, but didn't think they'd go with the chrome grille and bumper very well. Swap them on a rainy day and I think you'll like the clear ones better.
The smoke looks good on them though! Thats about 200 miles or so of conservative driving to Aberdeen MD to a concert...
Anyway you can get the tail lights off Purediesel Power for $200, or on ebay for $170. I did the ebay route, there are several different color combos, all clear lens, smoked, red (i chose that because it matched stock close enough. Yes they are LED and BRIGHT as schit!
I want to convince dad to let me put the black lights on the black truck, it would make my truck look better while possibly adding some bling to the work truck.
Looking at it now beside my work truck, i want to go with the chrome/painted stock style bumper off a 05-07, and the chrome package grille, it would look good i think, plus the offset of the paint below the light, instead of just sharp contrasting chrome, it would look a little better don't you think?
The chrome setup on your truck would look sharp. I'm not big on the 05+ bumpers, but I think on your truck the look would be there. Do I need to call your dad an convince him to let you switch the lights? If he doesn't like the look, you can always switch back...it's a no cost mod to him.
I'll check PDP for the lights. That's not too bad.
I know what you mean about the smoke though. It's bad with the new sticks. I can't keep my stacks clean even leaving the house anymore.
Kris look on ebay for an 05 bumper. I got mine with everything need in a nice grey color(needs a repaint) for 240$ shipped. I had to pick it up at the shipping terminal. The grille from fords is only 200$ for the chrome one. Youll have the complete 05 conversion for only 450$ more.
I give up cleaning my stacks, I do it once every 2 months.
