i'm in the process of replacing the front wheel hub assembly on my 2000 expy.i've removed the axle nut and the 3 bolts in the back of the assembly.my question is,how do you get this thing off.i've hit it with a hammer to no avail.its frozen on.for those who have done this job before, please help.thanks
Have you pushed the CV shaft back a little bit to "break it free"?
In other words, just loosen the splines from the CV shaft from the splines from the hub by say hitting it with a hammer (dont damage threads!). Once you do that, I always have the most luck taking an air hammer with a chisle bit, and putting it between the hub and the steering knuckle. you probably wont have alot of luck with a hammer. It will take a few good whacks to get it off anyway.
