how can I get a taser?
I've had enough of dog attacks, My good buddy was taking his dog to the lake for a swim(on a leash) when to cross pitbulls came running towards him from the beach, and attacked his dog, one latched on to his throat, while the other was attacking him from behind. my friend was looking around for some kind of weapon, but he could'nt find nothing, he felt totally helpless, they chewed on his dog till the owner came and pulled the dogs off. he got a 300.00 vet bill. but we got to talking about a weapon and thought a taser would be best. if you had a big hunting knife or a gun would you really use it?

Water gun with ammonia works well for dogs. Make sure your water gun is not leaky. Use it just like pepper spray. When I was a child riding my bicycle to school a dog chased me down and pulled me off the bicycle. My dad got me a watergun and a bottle of ammonia after that. When I sprayed the ammonia at the dogs face they backed down.

A stun gun would be just as effective and much cheaper. About $79 vs $349. They just have two probes on the end instead of flying leads. With fighting dogs there's a better than even chance you'd get your own dog with a taser.
Pretty much just go out and buy one. Here in MN you just have to pass a felony check first. Not sure about other states.

i do not think it would since it does not provide a physical barrier to stopping them, just like pepper spray only stops someone if they want to be stopped.
the stun gun works great i imagine and would trust that more than the spray. the spray would work but it would depend on the mindset of the animal attacking.
it would be even nicer if the owner would for one, not raise their animals like that and two, keep the stupid things on a leash.
while you are at it, stun the owner also for being stupid.

a taser physically impairs a person or animal, it does not matter what they want to do, very rarely does it not work. where as pepper spray does not physically impaire, just causes irritation which may or may not impair a person depending on their capabilities and intention.

Yeah tasers and stun guns affect your nerves, no matter how tough you are it'll take you down when theres that much current hitting your nervous system. Our local cops got a taser or two and decided to try them out on each other the biggest cop on the force is about 6'5'' and about 230lbs of muscle it dropped him like a rock.
If you don't have a taser and a dog is running at you to attack a well aimed kick to the nose will drop the dog. I know because I've had to do it. NOTE: I'm not saying you should go around kicking dogs in the nose all the time, but just as a last resort if your being attacked.
EDIT: I forgot to metion in the above kicking a pitbull in the nose won't do much, besides maybe make them madder.

I have a mixed up hound dog that is just as nice a dog as there is, and she has one of those invisible fences. one day the meter reader came (one that had not been here before) and when he got out of his truck she walked up to him just to smell, and he grabbed his can of dog spray and sprayed it all over her face and body, and what you think she did? she went into a rage like i have never see! and was all over him, i was watching him from where he couldn't see me, but started towards him when he sprayed her, but before i could get to her she had bit his arm and leg pretty good. i had a hard tome getting her off, but he had emptied a hole new can on her. he got fired cause 3 other people had called and said the same man had done basically the same thing to there dogs.

from what I read a taser effects the messages from the brain to the muscles, so theres no controled muscle movement anymore. I don't think there legal here, but I would deal with that issue after I saved my life with the taser. just have to find away to get one. like I said short of knifing or shooting a mad dog,(can't even imagine trying to stab a raging pitbull) I think its the best civilized solution. I heard you can even stop a pitbull with a baseball bat.
