where is the casting #???
can anyone tell me where the casting #"s are located on the block?...it"s supposed to be a 390..the plugs and the valve bolt patteren match the fe engine....

Just by reading the #'s on the block you will probably not be able to tell for sure. they used the same block for the 330,360,390. The best way I know to tell is to measure the stroke of the piston, just pull all the spark plugs and find a small wooden dowl to fit in the spark plug hole. then turn the motor till the piston is at it's lowest point. put a mark on the dowl. then turn the crank till the piston comes all the way to the top. then mark the dowl again. just measure the distance between the marks. 3.5 is a 360 and 3.78 is a 390
