Fog Lights

I am looking at a used 2006 F250. It has most everything that I want, except that it doesn't have fog lights. There's a site that I found that sells the Ford OEM Foglights, but they recommend that the dealer install them. I am not sure if I'm allowed to mention the site, since it appears that they are not a Sponsor.

My question is how difficult are they to install. Is it something that the average joe can install without too much difficulty? If there's no additional wiring or splicing involved, I think that I could install them myself.

Look at it this way, you're spending a lot of money on truck. If you haven't added lights in the past then just pay the dealer for an hour or two of labor. Then they'll be responsible for them.

If you're buying the truck from a dealer, see if they'll throw them in at no charge for you.

The OEM foglights are very weak. Find a quality aftermarket light, PIAA, is my preference. Easy to install, or you can find someone to do it better than the dealer.

Thanks for your input. You have an excellent point. Paying a little extra now could save me some grief later on if there's a problem.

The truck isn't on a Ford lot, so I'd have to take it to a Ford Dealership to have them installed which wouldn't be a big deal.

Don't worry about mentioning the web site name. We do like to support our sponsors, but we also understand "availability" and "price" issues that are not always 100% compatible with our sponsors offerings.

Personally, I have never hesitated to mention and link a web page that has a better deal than a sponsor, and haven't seen any trouble or iritation come from it yet. We're all trying to help each other in here, and I think the admins and moderators understand that pretty clearly.

I checked with PIAA and it doesn't look like they have any foglights that will custom fit a 2005 and up Superduty. I'll have to look into other brands and see what comes up.
