E-450SD hot doghouse
Im talking about Van Cutaways, yes V-10 powered E-450SD class C Motor homes, it seams that from about year model 2003 and newer, these units are having a big problem with the extreme heat of the engine doghouse, to the point of getting burned off the metal hold down snaps. It appears that its not a problem on older units, and were all talking the V-10 engine.
I have a 2001 and I have no heat problems, but others with newer units are to the point of selling then and switching to GM platforms. Or trying to modify the AC system, or bring in more out side air, extra heat shields on exhaust manifolds, Etc.
One person stated that when new, his unit had a yellow sticker on it, stating "this unit operates hotter that earlier models" ???
Can anyone shed any light on this problem?
Thanks for any help. Mike.
