Ball Joints?! Idler Arm?!
they didnt want to take my money only to have me come back a week later to fix the other stuff and then have to align it again - MY CUDOS TO 4WHEEL PARTS FOR NOT RIPPING ME OFF AND BEING HONEST!!!!
the truck only has 46k on it (a drop in the bucket for a 5.4L) - and although i do take it offroad quite a bunch - it IS A 4 WHEEL DRIVE TRUCK - its meant to be offroad a bunch...(he showed me the amount of wiggle in the front end - and i was stunned!!)
my point is - tomorrow iam having aftermarket ball joints & idler arm installed - apparently those CAN be LUBED - which is precisely why the old ones wore out...ford didnt think it was necessary to make the OEM one 'lubable'...
thats only a smart move if you want to keep the parts dept busy - to me its wasteful and lame.
i love my fords - but they dont think about the customer too much...just parts and service.
one more thing - why doesnt my truck have a 'fresh air' or 'recycled air' option...do you know how crappy it is to be out in the desert with the windows up - the a/c on and then get a face full of dust - IT FRIGGIN' SUX!!!!!
this isnt first thing - and im sure it wont be the last...
and like tina turner - despite all the crap - i still love em'.

And don't see why auto builders wont put in parts that we can't service ourselves. That little bit of grease go's a long way. Especially if you're going off road. The new grease push's out the old, along with the dirt/mud that act's as an abrasive.
