Need help starting my old ford.
Help me. I bought this 67 ford 250 a few weeks ago. It is in pretty good shape and runs strong. I am have some problems starting it up. It has a manual choke. My friend told my to pull the coke half way, pump the gas, them tap the gas as I turn the key. That works most of the time, but not always. The other day I started it and drove to work, then four hours later drove it to the gym, everything was fine. I got out of the gym (about 45min) and It wouldn't start. I could here the starter, but It seemed like it wasn't getting any gas. My wife picked me up and I left it there for a few hours as I went back to work. I came back and it fired up after a few trys. Help me? I don't get it!

You could have a week fuel pump, dirty fuel filter, maybe a rubber fuel line that has some cracks in it, letting the fuel drain down, and that's making you crank on the starter so long. May try a little carb cleaner the next time it's running.
How are the plugs, wires, cap rotor, points and condensor? Could need a good old fasion tune up too.

You didn't choke it at the gym did you? You should only have to do that on the first start, There is some fuel still in the intake the rest of the day so no choke, no tapping the gas!! What is your idle set at? and what carb?
