05 drag linkage worn out???
I took it into JW Ford in Reno. I'm going to leave out all the insane hassle part of the whole story, but I do want to relate what I was told about the front end.
They had to replace the drag linkage, because it was "worn out". The service advisor said it was because I had the leveling kit (2.5 inch spacers), and that they see it all the time. I said I had less than 6,000 miles on the truck since I had the kit installed (and 40,000 overall). He said it "doesn't take much time" for it to cause problems. He also said my "big tires" contributed to the problem.....they're 33x12.50-18 Toyo MT's on the factory rims.
They also re-torqued the entire suspension and aligned the front end....and rotated the tires. The tire rotation was done and I was charged $40 for it; even though I didn't approve it. I wouldn't have approved it, since there was a Les Schwab almost right next door, and Schwab rotates their own for free (as I'm sure the service advisor knew darn good and well). I won't go into the other damage they did and refused to address.
Anyway.....has anyone else had this problem on a low mileage situation? I firmly accept that I modified the suspension, and have no qualms paying for a fix....IF THAT was ACTUALLY THE PROBLEM!! The rig drives fine now, goes down the road straight again (that's a relief) but some of the clunk noise is still there, and the power steering is still louder than it was before I went on the trip.

The heavier diesels are known to wear out steering boxes and pumps.
Good luck!
