Starter clicks on V10

Hello everyone,

FYI: 1999 Bounder RV on a Ford chassis V10 engine.

The problem is as follows.
Turning on the ignition, engine just clicks.
took off starter and had it checked out and was told that it was OK. Replaced the starter and still would not start.
Battery is new and good 12 volt output.
Replaced a switch behind the right wheel and the problem still existed.

I was able to start the engine by shorting the starter selonoid terminal with the battery post on the starter.

After that the vehical worked for a few days then acted up again and wouldn't start normally. ( but will if you short the terminaks on the starter).

Question: What are the components (switches, wires, circuit brakers, etc.) for this type of truck?

Is there other components that have to be checked?

I had to crawel under the RV 6 times to make it back home this last week. ( 2700 miles )

Thanks for your help,

Fred
