Thermostat ?????
Which T-stat are people using on there 360's I have a 1969 F-250 camper special with a 360 and I am wondering what would be recommended a 160 degree or a 180 degree T-stat? Is a 160 degree exceptable to use or not? Any help would be great thanks.

I think a 160 in a stock low compression 360 is a little low. A 180 or I think the stock unit is 195 should work fine. If you are overheating and the thermostat has been change, going lower will not help all that much. It will open sooner, but that is about it.

160 is too low. Gas engines are designed to operate at between 180 and 210 degrees. Anything lower causes all sorts or problems due to sluggish oiling and incorrect clearances. You'll wear out bearing surfaces much faster at that temp. I recommend a 195 for most people.
