'97 4.2L, auto, 57000 miles
The check engine light came on. Took it to AUTOZONE for a free checkup. Error code was PO 133. Brought home a new O2 sensor. Lifted the hood and found two(2) sensors, one on the exhaust manifold and one on exhaust pipe. Question: are these two sensors the same or are they differant animals? Which one does PO 133 refer to? They guy at AUTOZONE was clueless. Thanks for any help.
I have a 97 f150 4.6 with 112k miles it has 4 o2 sensors. At 100k I had an o2 sensor go bad and replaced all of them since they are inexpensive but, you could pull each one of yours out and clean it with "electrical motor cleaner" or pure gasoline and reuse them( I have done this before). The deal is that they get dirty with exhaust and can not detect the oxygen in the system.

Hey, how ya doing? Bank 1 is the drivers side. Bank two is the passangers side. Top sensor is number one. next inline is sensor number 2. Hope this helps. Dave
PS. Let the truck worm up before you try to change the sensors, but dont get burned. DO NOT LET THE COATING ON THE SENSOR THREDS DET ON THE SENSOR TIP.
