Hypertech chip for a 1995 F250 5.8

I am not a big fan of hypertechs on Fords. They work great on chevy's, but usually don't offer gear ratio or tire size options. 95 isn't OBD2, so your going to have trouble finding a tuner, but I believe Sniper's commando suite will cover you though. Otherwise, I'd just get a superchips hard chip.

Bigred, I just got a 97 F250 HD 351 5.8 and have the same question ... I can't find a tuner, but I can get a new chip. Did you end up having any luck or change in performance? And you said you have K&N intake? I can't find ANY cold air intake for my truck ... I can get a K&N filter to replace the stock one, but not a whole CAI set-up. what are you using? Thanks much.

Thanks for the info. I can get a chip, but it seems NOBODY makes an intake for the 5.8 any more ... my local speed shop even called K&N directly. Tried Summit, all the other major manufacturers ... that's where I've hit a wall. By any chance do you know what K&N model you have? I'm looking at the same setup for the exhaust ... glad to hear you like it. Thanks again.

Go to a scrap yard and get the intake snorkel from a 460 or I6 truck, it's the piece that runs from the bottom of the stock airbox to the rad support. The difference in this part is that it goes to the large oval hole beside the rad instead of over the top of the rad support, so it isn't pinched down and really does flow a lot better. If you then feel the need for a filter just get a drop-in for the stock airbox.
The chips are a waste of money on these older OBD1 trucks, advance the timing a few degrees and open up the exhaust, that will do more than the chip alone and won't require premium fuel.
