So, the Steel one is best one to get so we don't get the flutter?

Steel or stainless won't affect flutter. You will more than likely get a little flutter with the ebay Y-pipe. My dad has the steel one because that was the only one available at that time, the stainless y is a somewhat recent addition.

Y-pipe

Surely there is someone out there NOT affilliated with the Ebay sites that has done a real honest to goodness before and after DYNO Testing of the Y-Pipe Mod???????

Not that I don't believe Ebay sites or those who have invested the Money and Time.....

My 2000 F-250SD is just about ready for some serious exhaust system work....thanks to all the Mag Chloride on the Idaho roads. Almost convinced to go with the Y-Pipe but can not afford any possible drop in Low End Torque.

You won't lose low end power. In my experience you actually gain low end. The necked down stock Y-pipe is only to eliminate flutter, thats it. Performance only improves by removing the restriction point.

Isn't that made from PIECES from Summit, not a complete pipe available that way to begin with?

C'mon...I got a video posted of mine with the Summit pipe. You can clearly hear flutter.

Maybe your SC does something to eliminate or reduce it??

I just had the ebay y-pipe installed. I had the 99-2000 McD styled pipe. This is a new truck for me, my other 00 V-10 is a 2 wheel drive. I had a custom pipe built for that one 2 yrs ago. The Ebay pipe fit good, cost me $100.00 to have it installed, I have a filter minder gauge on the air inlet tube behind the MAF.. The increased flow & vacum was very apparent, up to 15 from 9 (in H2O )at WOT. the tires smoke off the line easier as well. So I know that mod is allowing the engine to breath easier. one note, it reads the same with my K&N or the paper filter. So now, I will be easy on the throttle & see if I get better Mileage. We are paying $1.33 per liter up here in Vancouver .OUCH !
