302 help

i just bought an 82 f150 with a later model 302 in it. problem i have is i need to buy a belt for the ac compressor and don't know the year of the motor. it has the serpentine belt system, but it's not one belt for everything. it has one belt going to the power steering, alt, water pump, and crank, then there's a separate one for the ac compressor to the crank, with an tension pulley between them. it is carbureted now, but don't know if that was converted or not. any ideas would help. i know i can pull the casting numbers, but was hoping someone might just know the years ford used this belt setup. thanks.

If you have the belt that's on it just measure that, or run a piece of string the way that the belt would go measure that and take into account some deflection for the tensioner.

Take the belt to the parts store with you.

doesn't have a belt on it, i've got to get one so I can diagnose the ac system and find out why the PO wasn't using it.

k fine, do the string trick I spoke about. It'll be quicker than trying to track the info down.
