I just read your post in the other thread, so now I understand what you're asking.
Your stock Bilstiens in the front will not be long enough.
Here's a cut and paste from my thread from last year, when I did the spring upgrade:
When I talked with Shane at Bilstein, he recommended using the shocks for the F250 4x4 on the front of my Ex, but to stay with the Bilsteins for the 4x4 Excursion on the rear.
Shane said the fronts can use the extra length the F250 shock gives because the front V code springs raise the Ex about an inch an a half, but the Excursion Bilsteins for the rear are long and have a lot of travel. He said you could put a 3" lift on the Ex and still use the stock Bilstein for the rears.
Hope that helps.
Stewart
PS - I have no idea if Shane still works at Bilstein, but he was in the California office at their offroad 4x4 division. You can try calling him to get further info.

do you happen to have the p/n for the front springs? still trying to decide which way to go $370.00 for the 3 1/2 lift or $350.00 for springs from ford and probably a little extra for u-bolts? with the lift kit i will have 150.00 worth of new bilisteins that i can't use anymore! (decisions, decisions) don't really want to lift the x like the look now just hate the ride!
Front V code springs: Part #2C3Z-5310-HA
Rear B code springs: Part #3C3Z-5560-CB
Left side 3.5" tapered block: Part #F81Z-5598-FA
Right side 3.5" tapered block Part #F81Z-5598-GA
...and the Bilstein part numbers if you use the above springs:
Front: BE5-2818 (OEM length for the F250 4x4)
Rear: BE5-6209 (OEM length for the Excursion 4x4)
Now, Shane did say you can still use the Excursion Bilstein shocks for the front, even with the V codes, but since I was getting new shocks, he said the extra travel the F250 Bilstein shock has would be nice.
I know Ford says to use new U-bolts and nuts, but I reused my old ones and got some take-offs from a 4x4 shop for the rears.
I've been called a lot of names in my 42 years of life (and I mean a lot, I was a cop for 14 years before my back sidelined me) so I was pretty sure I'd heard them all, but sharv is a new one!!
Remove the front bumper in order to remove the front springs. Four bolts and off that bumper pops. It's really easy, and makes removing the front springs a snap.
Be careful with the rear a/c lines. Just loosen a few of the brackets holding the lines and that will allow you to manipulate the lines out of the way.
Having a couple floor jacks to maneuver the springs under the rig makes things a lot easier too.
I wanted to add, after you remove the four bolts holding the bumper on, there's a small rubber snubber/bracket for the radiator on the left and right side that gets removed. Once you take those off, the front bushing bolt on the spring is easily removed.
first i want to thank stewart for his help! second the spring swap was a breeze had two buddies help me we knocked it out in about 18 pack lol! hell i think the hardest part was trying to get the line the bumper back up straight and level maybe a couple less beers would have helped here! we'll here is the update. front springs are in and look good leveled x perfectly. drives much better, no more growling and popping when turning and not chasing it all over the road as bad still need to readjust steering box again but i will wait till springs settle in about 1500 miles my wife has been on my @$$ to get her x back. i had to replace steering stabilizer it was bent, do not know how or when or how long just have to order p/s spring snubber it was broken also and i will be finished with the front. thinking about getting the front end aligned but everything is wearing great! and all components are tight. Now i have to go give blood at the local bank to fill the x up see ya!
