Back Up Camera

Well I finally broke down and got one, makes hooking up the trailer muuuuch easier. Anyway, I took some pics while I was doing it for those who may want to do it themselves. This is not a universal camera, and it only for the Eclpise brand head units. The installation is basically the same for other brands/models, just all depends on sizing and placement. This particular one, just plugs into the back of the unit and required the reverse wire to be activated.

Easiest place to get the reverse signal is in the drivers kickpanel, so when the truck is in reverse the camera comes on. (The white wire is my wire and the reverse wire is the black/pink wire it is soldered too)

There is a grommet under the driver carpet to run the plug through. Makes it easy.

Mounted it above the rear license plate between the tailgate and bumper. Fits perfectly and doesnt interfere with the opening/closing of the tailgate.

Can barely notice it. Where it is mounted gives a nice view on the screen.

Tried to get some pictures and these were the best I could with the way the glare on the screen was. Anyway, you can kind of see the hitch in the center at the bottom which is nice to not be guessing where it is anymore. One is with and one is without the trailer.

A little off topic but can you send me info on the headunit you have as well as your sound system (noticed the 1/0 blue power wire in one of the pics). Thaniks.

No kit. Check ebay for prices. Not sure, this is last years model headunit. As for the camera, its $150/200.

I just installed an "ebay special" on my truck. I love it! The picture is really clear. I already had an alpine indash tv, so all I needed was the camera, but if anyone is interested in one, check out the link:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=130157968730&ssPa geName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=003
