Unhappy Re: up pipe leaks

I called International to install the new kind of up pipes. They said 300.00$ for the kit, and 300 to 500$ to install them. Is that about right or to much? Had an operation on my arm can't do it my self! Has anybody else gone to a dealer to get this done? Need help!! or advice..

BTW... WELCOME to FTE, greedy737. I failed to notice your low post count in the other thread. Forgive my lack of manners in not having welcomed you in one of my previous responses.

On this issue, I can't help much. Perhaps there might be a fellow FTE member geographically nearby who can help you get it done. I know that there are lots of folks here in FTE who, when they live nearby someone who needs help, are always happy to pitch in and help out. Great guys in here.

Someone else with better info will probably chime in shortly.

Greedy737,

Welcome to FTE,

Black Widow Diesel sells the kit for $325 (non-ceramic) so 300 is about right for the kit. When I replaced my up-pipes with the old style, it was a royal pain (I need smaller hands or more extensions for my ratchet). Had my dealer quoted me 300-500 I would have had them do it, but there was a 1 in front of that number when I got a quote, so I did it myself.

That is a good price for labor, you have to remove the turbo and the passengers side inner fender well, Small hands help..Make sure those are the accordian style uppipes.

Its a big job and leads to other jobs(oil leaks, turbo work, etc.)

you are about 120 miles from me. If you want to do a mapquest use Union Bridge MD 21791 and look at it from there. Might be the same distance from your place to here and your place to Pete's.
