Please! Timing chain tips?
I have a 72 F100 with a 360. While doing my Pertronix mods this weekend (Thanks to all for the info!), I noticed that my water pump has leteral play in the shaft. methinks this is bad, so I'll replace the water pump soon.
As long as the WPump is off, I might as well swap out the stock fibrous timing gear, right? Accordingly, I ordered a steel timing set for a 68 360 (Someone on the bbs said that a 68 would have better timing for better power than a set for a 72. Hope this is true).
Anyway, as I am soon to swap out the timing gears and chain, as well as the waterpump and fuel pump, I would love to hear any tips and tricks from the collective experience of the board. I am especially concerned about messing up the timing set project. What do I torque the gears to, foot-pound-wise?
Any hints?

LINE UP THE TIMING MARKS ON THE GEARS BEFORE YOU REMOVE THEM AND THEN DON'T MOVE THE ENGINE AND INSTALL THE NEW TIMING GEARS AND CHAIN
