Had my front brakes done 10000 miles ago and the rear 7000. The last couple times driving I started to notice the slight stearing wheel wobble, yesterday more so when pulling trailer with ASV posi-track when coming to a stop, so I thought warped rotors, but today it seemed gone ?? not pulling anything. Ten thousand miles doesn't seem to long of a fix.
Is it only when you use your brakes or all the time and when they did your brakes did they turn your rotors or replace them? Also do you drive in a lot of rain? Because if your brakes get really hot then drive threw some water that cools them off really quick it might of caused them to warp. If it was your rotors though i would Imagine that it would do it every time you apply your brakes.
I think they turn the rotors(maybe because dealer did as part of the deal) and put new pads in.It is only when I apply the brakes. Interesting about the rain/wet conditon because we have been getting some long over do rain this month and its when it started to show up. How ever the driving Iv'e been doing shouldn't get them that hot. Although my caliper pins were hanging and put alot of drag on the front brakes a while back, until I discovered it and did the tear down and lub the pins.
Rotors get warped, especially in wet weather. They heat up then get water splashed on them, causing part of the rotor to cool faster. This causes the warp.
The warp can come and go as the rotors heat and cool (this isn't all that unusual) but when you get a permanent warp you'll know it. It'll feel like you're getting a hand massage when braking heavy.
Also, rotors that have been turned are more prone to the warping/unwarp phenomenon.
I Couldn't Guarantee that it will fix it but they wouldn't heat up so much they would stay cooler probably preventing it from happening again. I just stay out of the deeper puddles that cause them to cool off so quick when I know my brakes ar hot. But I live in Abilene, TX right now and we don't get that much rain.
