I have an old 71 FordRanger siting in my yard that is now my new project. The motor ran but probably not safe enough to diagnose any problems running so it spread out on a trailerheaded to the machine shop for an inspect and rebuild. My thing is I know nothing about the 365 it came with, from what I've seen partsseem to be less prevalint for this make. Any and all opinions on this motor, truckset up are apreaciated. let me know what you think.
Also this is gonna be a rest. mod. truck so I'm modernizing most systems ignition fuel (no EFI) suspention ands braking
I would figure it's safe to assume you mean a 360 FE block. The most common thing I see done to these is to immediately put a 390 crankshaft in it for a pretty fair gain in torque output. After that, it's up to what you're looking to do with it. Personally, I'm looking for a minimum of 400 horses, and it seems from reading around, it's pretty easy to pull with a minimum of investment.
So... What are you looking to get out of the engine?
Oh, and since I just thought of it, you may want to try searching the FE block forums. You'll find more there for sure since this is more in reference to 67-72 trucks in general.

Yep the 390 swap is what I want, is it just the crank I thought I needed the 390 pistons and rods too? and yeah 400+ whp sounds about where I wanna be. oh yeah ya'lls FE forumes are very helpfull
Also I used to have a big Ford parts catalog, I need another cause I can't find that one. Anybody know where I can order a good parts catalog? I need everthing form Disc brakes kits to internals to suspenssion.
Chances are you'll need pistons for overboring anyway, but otherwise it's just the crank you'll need, and I guess probably rods considering you'll have a longer stroke.
LMC and NPD are good places to go, but check the sponsors, I'm not too sure what's there because I haven't done so much looking myself. As far as disc brakes go, check out the sticky at the top of this forum, it pretty much gives you everything you need to know about that. Anything else you need, just ask or search. I haven't been here too long, but everyone has been rather helpful.
