Angry Please help diagnois a odd problem

Hello folks I would like to say the wealth of information here his great and has helped me with a few problems I have had. But I got one that I can't seem to find any previous reports on to help me.

First the stats on my truck as that seems to be a common ask reply to start things out. My rig is a stock '99 F350 crew cab SRW, I have about 175,000 miles on it with a new tranny at about 125,000,and two years ago and two new water pumps in the last 13 mo. I am ordering a coolant filter system next week along with a *203 thermostst, and billet housing. In other words I am getting ready to start the mods finally.

But on to my problem this morning I went out started the truck let it warm for a few minutes as it is starting to get a bit chilly here in Colorado. Went to work and all was fine. This evening I went to start the truck to pull into the shop and start the final touchs on my custom winch bumper. An when I opened the door I heard this chatter going on inside the dash. Now mind you I haven't even put the key in the iginition yet. Well I started to look around and happened to turn the heater switch off and the chatter stopped. Well I thought that was odd. I went into the shop and worked on the bumper for a few hours and decided to come home. Started the truck and the ABS light was on and would not go off all the way home. And it sounded like there was something rattling under the dash. Oh and I had the heater on a bit for the ride home. When I got home I turned the truck off and the chattering started again. I turned the heater control to off and it went away again...

What gives is the ABS run buy the heater switch.... is the a vac. switch that runs both systems .... Help.

And thanks in advanced

Dave

Do you have a keyless entry and alarm system?

Just wondering, I don't have the alarm and have been trying to remember where I might have seen info on something similar. That is about the only thing I can think of that might activate things without the key in.

Have you isolated the noise to a particular area. You will need to pinpoint where it is coming from. Chatter and rattle when the heater control is on. Might be the fan motor headed south. Just don't know until you get us closer to where the noise is coming from.

Will try to see where it is coming from tomarrow when it is light. The sound is almost like a flasher relay clicking but extremely fast and it quits when the heater control is turned off. Also the different setting on the heater control make it chatter faster or slower or quit when off. And what does this or might this have to due with the ABS light???

Thanks for the help

If it is a relay it may be on the same ciruit or affecting the ABS ciruit. I don't have time to look up wiring diagrams tonight. What throws me is how it does it simply by opening the door, hence the alarm remote start type questions.

Sorry I guess It sounded like it only happened when I opened the door. That is when I heard it first. When I got home I just sat in the truck with the key off and the door closed and it still happens. I don't believe the door has any thing to due with.

No biggy Dave. You must understand I am staring at the same screen you are so the more precise you can be the better we will be in trying to figure it out. You must describe under what conditions it happens, what is happening, and where it is happening. Good luck.
