did the conversion on my 99 f250 this evening and i was wondering what methods everyone uses to mount the 2 top holes on each side of the 05 lights..i made it work with something i have temporarily forgotten the name of but i would like to hear others ideas
i used c clips. you know, the ones that have the nutsert on one side and you slide it onto the header panel and then put a bolt through it.. i did the conversion a while ago. i also just ripped the headlight assemblies apart and installed a set of hid projectors from a range rover into them. pics in my gallery. light output is waaaaay better than stock halogen lights.
i still cant think of the name but i used a little square plastic insert that a 1/4" screw fits in and i drilled out the hole in the header panel and inserted the plastic thing under the headlight tab then put the headlight over it and screwed it in with a washer so the head would stay up on the screw
Well, you didn't waste any time getting those in did ya
Sounds to me like you used one of those plastic nuts like they use in the rear bumper to screw the license plate bolts into. I would think that would work fine. Otherwise I would think Rivnuts would work well if there is room.
Hope you're happy with them, post some pics in your gallery when ya get it all finished up.
