need help with SCT tuner

Is there a way to find out if my SCT tuner has tunes ? cause when I try to put a tune on my truck it only gives me one option and when I choose it and it uploads it, the truck wont start

TIA

-Junior

Did you load the tunes yourself? Where did you get the tuner? What is the "one option" you chose and uploaded? Who wrote the tune? If you have the SCT liveload software installed on your PC and you loaded the tune onto the tuner yourself you should see it in the list of available tunes.

4 it has the stock tunes.. Its new.. I just got it today

this is the problem I'm having...

i tried to load the street tune and when it was done the truck would turn over and die as soon as i released the key. i returned it to stock and tried again i also looked for any codes and there was none

Sounds like you need to contact VMP, and trouble shoot the problem with them. It appears there is an error in the progam that is in the tuner or a problem with the hardware itself.

Hmmm - preloaded should have worked....

One thing you can certainly do is use the tuner to read the strategy....
write down and email the strategy for both the pcm and tranny.... typically a VXDA2M9 and TQBE0M3 type codes....

like Christmas morning with no double a batteries

I called SCT and they said that the reason it wont work is cause I installed the bully dog try before you buy.. they told me to get the strategy and send it to Justin @ VMP ... So I'm just waiting now

thanks

That will do it, the Bully Dog try before you by program leaves a big foot print on the PCM. You are not the first person to have trouble with the Bully Dog footprint. I thought they would have had that resolved by now, but i guess Bully Dog hasn't changed there program.

Standard Tunes are ok for a daily driver. The SCT Programmers will not pre-load if another tuner was used before due to the fact (Mentioned above).

Custom tunning is the way togo. I'll give a discount on custom tunes to help you get it running. (5 tunes for $75.00).
