Suspension bushings

What is the best way to get the old rubber bushings out of the leaf springs on my 03 F350. Did the rear end of the left front this morning. Took me about two hours, I had to keep drilling holes in the old bushings to get them to pop out. Are they glued in there and glued on to the sleeve? Changing them to urethane, cna't stand the squeaking any more.

I've seen them burned out with a torch... stinky! I think drilling has worked best for me, sometimes a press can get downright scary.

Better make sure you lube them sufficiently before you get it all back together, or you wont be done with the squeaking issues.
