I am getting tired of replacing my starter about every 18 months which I've been buying from az or oreillys.the one on there now is starting to drag and thats after i replaced the postive and ground cables and the battery is almost new. i am thinking about getting a summit protorque starter#820055
has anyone put one on their truck and is it a direct bolt on? think it is worth it or should i go to a ford dealer and get a rebuilt motorcraft starter?

Make sure you are getting a good ground against the starter mounting surface. I went through a few starters and replaced the battery cables also. I believe the original problem was the ground for the starter.
