Parts transporting, looking for help
I have an engine from a 1976 Honda CB550 that I need to get from Grand Forks, ND to Terre Haute, IN and can't afford the $175 shipping I've been quoted. The price is high because crated it weighs about 190 lbs. The motor alone weighs over 160. I'm wondering if there is a thread on this forum related to transporting items like this. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be open to suggestions and yes I am a member, started with my '84 2wd F150 that I worked a 351w from a late 60's car into. Now have a '97 F250 CC 4X4 7.3 and a '57 F600, probably won't use that for delivery, though. If I could make a partial trip and have a few chain it together to make it to Terre Haute, that would be great. Thanks.

Sometimes the smaller common carrier freighters will do it cheaper if you don't care how long it takes. I don't know what the price would be for sure, but it would be a fair bit less than most of the places you see commercials for on tv.
