Is the distributor 180 degrees out? Take out the #1 spark plug - turn engine by hand until you feel air coming out the spark plug hole. Keep turning the engine until the timing mark on the damper reads "0" (TDC) and insert the distributor with the rotor pointing to the #1 coil wire. Should be close enough to start.
i did as you said. it was only off by about 10deg. i broke the sprak plug. waiting for them to get pack from the parts store, so i can see if it worked or not thank you
Shes alive! THANK YOU! It is running and moving under her own power again!
i still have to hook the exhaust back up the thread pitch is different on the 73 and i don't have nuts does any one know what the fine thread pitch would be. looks like 3/8
also the coupling is different diameter on the 73 than the 76 but i have figure that one out already
I think those are 7/16" studs arent they guys? the studs are an outomotive item, and you should be able to get brass nuts at the autoparts store. brass is good so you dont have to heat the nuts red hot next time you remove the pipe!
