Tomorrow I am having a new dual exhaust with flowmaster 40 series mufflers put on my 68 F-250 with a 360. I will post some pics of the exhaust and some sound clips.I know some of you guys do not like the sound of flowmaster but I do. My dad has 40 series on his 77 bronco with a 302 and it sounds awesome, he also has flowmasters on his 79 supercab with a 460.
niiiice. i love these exhaust threads. because in my opinion for a truck to be a beast it must growl like one. what kind of headers are you running? i dont mind flowmasters, and the 40 series are by far the loudest and best sounding ones they make, but i prefer to take some cheap cherry bombs and fill them with diesel fuel. what size pipes do you plan on routing out the back, or sides? please take note to your low end/ mid range torque and let us know how much noticeable the difference feels. it seems most people end up sacrificing one for the other.
I am just running the manifolds with 2 1/2 inch pipe comming out behind the rear tire slighly angled with pencil tips. What does the diesel fuel do to the glass packs?
I definitely want to hear anything you can give with your 40 series Flows. I usually hear of Flows being second to none, but then others have liked.. was it Magnaflow? Something of the sort..
I don't have my truck to modify for the moment (it's three hours north of me, and unfortunately outside) nor the money, but I'm already saving up and should be rebuilding a 360 into a 390 within the next six months, so I'll definitely need a choice of exhaust by then, too.
I'm sure this will help a few people decide on for or against Flows.
